Following the Midnight Ride, Paul Revere did not return home to Boston. With British soldiers occupying the town, Patriot forces began a blockade that cut off supplies, so Revere had his family join him in nearby Watertown. For close to a year, the Revere family waited for the Siege of Boston to end, not knowing if they would see their home again. The British left Boston on March 17, 1776.
This puzzle commemorates the Revere family returning to their North Square home after the end of the Siege. Painted by Cortney Skinner for the book Paul Revere’s Ride, an Illustrated History, also available for purchase.
